The Eagle Informs is a student newsletter that will keep you informed about events on campus, updates and available services. This newsletter is under the purview of the Office of Student Affairs.

February 18, 2025 (Volume 4: Issue 17)

Join us for a dual Eagle Hour with the Non-Traditional Resource Fair and Student Advisor group on Tuesday from 12:00-2:00 in the Upper SUB. We also have free walking tacos on Thursday from 11:00-1:00 for a Taco’bout Leadership Eagle Hour. Take advantage of the Loneliness Epidemic Symposium and earn 1 credit hour or CEU’s.

February 10, 2025 (Volume 4: Issue 16)

It’s Valentines week and we are celebrating all over campus. Stop by the CSI library to do a Valentines Day craft, join us for a “Pal”entines Day Party on Tuesday from 12:00 - 2:00 in the upper SUB and again on Thursday to learn about “Love Around the Globe”. Don’t forget to stop by the Transfer Fair on February 12th to visit with regional four-year universities about the transfer process. It will be in the Fina Arts Building and you will have a chance to win a $500 CSI Scholarship plus get some free pizza.

February 3, 2025 (Volume 4: Issue 15)

Come join us for Eagle Hour on Tuesdsay and Thursday from 12 - 2 p.m. in the Upper Sub. We are having Minute to Win It games on Tuesday and a Cybersecurity Carnival on Thursday. They are doing a drawing for a $50 Bookstore Gift Card on Thursday so don’t miss it! Esports is doing a Super Smash Bros. ultimate tourney on Saturday, February 8. There is a free bowling night on Tuesday, February 11 from 10 p.m. - 12 a.m. at Bowladrome.

January 27th, 2025 (Volume 4: Issue 14)

Welcome back! The CSI Library has a Paper Lantern Craft for students all this week. They are also teaching a workshop on Time Management this Wednesday from 3:00-4:00. We have several student leadership councils looking for members including Eagle Leads and Diversity. If you are interested, make sure to apply. They both have scholarships! If you want to learn to Cross-Country Ski you can join other students for a free ski day on February 1st at Magic Mountain.

December 2nd, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 13)

Join us for our Student Accessibility Eagle Hour to frost some cookies on Tuesday at 12:00-2:00. Enjoy a free night of rollerskating at Skateland, Wednesday from 7 - 9 p.m. Relax with Yoga at the Library on Wednesday from 12 - 1 p.m. Also, learn about some internship opportunities on Thursday from 1 - 2 p.m. in Taylor room 233.

November 20th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 12)

Are you interested in mentor program? We help supoprt the transition to CSI by connecting you to one-on-one time with a Eagle Leads Member, Faculty Member or Staff Member. If you are interested the link is on the newsletter. Stop by for all of the Stress Free Week activities. We have movies, Crumble Cookies, ‘Sharkuterie’ board treats, and a Tea Garden. We also have a free bowling night on Tuesdasy from 9:30 - 11:30 at Bowladrome.

November 14th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 11)

This is a busy week starting off with Emotional Support Stuffies in the Upper SUB, Evergreen and HSHS Buildings from 12:00-2:00 on Tuesday. Stop by and make a stuffie! There is Trivia in the Library on Wednesday from 12:00-2:00, Pop of Pride (come grab some CSI Swag) from 12:00-2:00 in the Upper SUB on Wednesday and a Day of the Dead Celebration on Thursday from 12:30-2:30 in the Upper SUB. Don’t forget to stop by the CSI Bookstore to add your ‘thankful’ leaf to the Tree of Gratitude.

November 4th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 10)

Join our Kindness Through Diversity Eagle Hour on Tuesday at 12:30-2:30 in the Upper SUB. You can also beef up your resume with our Resume Workshop on Thursday from 12:00-2:00. Make crafts and get food at Falling 4 Fun also on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 in the Upper SUB. Esports CSI Golden Gaming Club presents at Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tourney on Saturday starting at 1:00. Free for students. Community members pay $5 to join the fun.

October 29th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 9)

Halloween has begun on campus! The Library is hosting a Movie Night on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. They will be watching the classic horror film House on Haunted Hill. Join the Dance Department for ‘Thriller’ on Wednesday at 4:30. Spooktoberfest is being held on Thursday from 12:30-2:30 in the upper SUB.

October 22th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 8)

This week is CSI Medical Assisting Week. They are having a fundraiser to celebrate. Visit the webiste to donate. Don’t forget to joing Eagle Empower Support Group to help build a campus support network with fellow students. They meet Wednesdays at 1:00 PM in the Upper SUB. Another fun event on Wednesday is the Monster Minute Mayhem event from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Upper SUB. Play games, get some prizes and eat some food.

October 15th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 7)

Join us for our Safety Week activities. On Tuesday we are doing Alcohol Awareness from 12:00-2:00 and on Thursday we are doing Consent from 12:00-2:00. We are also doing a Serve Together: Caring for Spaces, Heroes and Hearts activity on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 on the Upper SUB. Write notes to our Veterans and Service Members and write notes, paint cards or pumpkinds for residents in assisted living. It will be a great way to give back to our community.

October 7th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 6)

Join us at the Transfer Fair on October 9th to check out 4-year colleges, universities, and the military. Learn about academic programs, financial aid, scholarships, and housing. There will be free pizza, swag, raffle, and a $500 scholarship.  Come to the Cool to Be Aware Event on October 8th and Grad Fest on October 10th. Lastly, don’t forget to attend CSI’s free Tubbs Berry Farm event on October 10th from 9:00 – 11:00 PM.

September 30th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 5)

This week stop by Eagle Hour to get some help with scholarships and grab a snack. Also, play capture the flag with the IT Department for a chance to win a $50 CSI Bookstore gift card. Don’t’ forget to join in on some of the Hispanic Heritage Month activities on the 3rd and 15th.

September 23rd, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 4)

There are many events going on for Hispanic Heritage Month including two Eagle Hours, crafts, candy contests, and more. Make sure to check everything out! If you are interested in work study, we have openings at the Early Childhood Education Early Learning Center and the CSI Bookstore.

September 16th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 3)

Come join us for a yummy Eagle Hour on Tuesday at 12:00. Let’s eat tacos and talk! Stop by the Library to enjoy Loteria on Wednesday. Play some games, win prizes and enjoy Mexican candy and hot chocolate. Don’t forget to support Constituation Day on Thursday at 12:30PM in the Herrett Center.

September 9th, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 2)

Come and join us this week for a Basic Needs Eagle Hour on Tuesday. You'll be able to grab some of your basic need items to bring home. Diversity Club is doing an Eagle Hour on Thursday celebrating international students that are attending CSI. We will be remembering 9/11 on Wednesday from 8:25-9:00 on the North Side Lawn of the Taylor Building.

September 3rd, 2024 (Volume 4: Issue 1)

We are excited to start our Eagle Hours for Fall of 2024! Our first activity is September 3rd from 12:00-2:00 PM in the Upper Sub. They will be doing a Q&A with the Student Accessibility Services Department. The next one is Thursday, September 5th from 12:00 -2:00 and will be discussing CSI's Peer Mentoring program. You can also receive free swag and Crumbl Cookies at the event on the 5th. Lastly, don't forget to visit our World Suicide Prevention Day Event on Friday, September 6th from 10:00-2:00 on Taylor's North Side Lawn.
